Kampus is Manchester’s latest garden neighbourhood, located right in the city centre. The ambitions canal side development includes the restoration of iconic Victorian warehouses, surrounded by secret streets, gardens, terraces, and independent restaurants. The development has opened up a forgotten part of the city, mixing Manchester’s industrial heritage with modern design.
Origin has recently supplied it’s latest Graphic Tables and Benches along side Contour Chairs and In-Out Tables to the projects canal side restaurant and events space. The contemporary furniture designs compliment the industrial surroundings, concrete structures and modern garden area, creating a space rich in contrast.
‘It’s important when designing a range of products to imagine the context in which they will be used. With the rise in biophilic spaces I wanted to design a product range that didn’t compete with plants and natural environments but rather let them take centre stage. It was nice to see The Graphic Collection brought to life at Kampus, the simplicity of geometric shapes combined with the abundance and beauty of planting in this natural space.’
Giles Pearson – Design Director
With the growing demand for outdoor spaces forced by the pandemic, our eyes have been opened to the beauty and opportunity of this often overlooked space. Nature and Plants work on a subliminal level to improve our mood and overall happiness, making us feel more peaceful in our day to day life.
